An Armor of God Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus,

I recognize and accept that the battle is spiritual and I am in a war. I am a warrior, a spiritual sniper, and a kingdom fighter. Thank You for the armor You have provided!

I put on the belt of truth and use it to expose all the lies of the enemy. I commit to Your truth as the guiding force in my life and I will speak it all day long – not my feelings, knowledge, gut instincts, or past experiences – but Your Truth! Your truth holds me steady, strong, upright, protected and energized.

Father God, I take off perfectionism and comparison and that awful to-do list, and instead, I put on the gleaming gorgeous breastplate of righteousness – Your free gift to me, paid for by the blood of Jesus! I am righteous, holy, perfect, and sanctified in You, because of You!

I put on the shoes of peace and I accept your gift of Shalom – peace. harmony, health, and wholeness in You, Jesus. With Your Word, the gospel of peace, I walk from a position of victory into enemy territory to demolish strongholds and take back all that has been stolen. I walk daily in peace – never taking these shoes off! I pronounce freedom and peace over myself and others in Jesus’ name!

I take up the shield of faith and say with conviction, “God, I believe You! All of your promises, everything You say – I believe You!” I follow you even when I don’t understand and when I don’t know what’s going to happen. I step out when you lead. Let my shield smother all the enemy’s plans! My confidence in You – Your faithfulness that reaches beyond the clouds and lasts for a thousand generations – protects me.

I put on the helmet of salvation and walk in all of the divine inheritance that comes with it. With salvation, You rescue me, yes, and You also restore me to wholeness. I will know, and never forget, the abundant and never-ending benefits that You have freely given me. I take captive every thought and renew my mind by deliberately and continually applying Your truth to my life. I replace enemy thinking with God’s thinking – repeatedly, diligently, and verbally.

I actively use the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I know God’s word and I use it to fight. When I hear Your Rhema – Holy Spirit speaking to me – I will recognize it and use it in battle.

Thank You, Father God, that I have access to every spiritual blessing – that I am your adopted daughter and co-heir with Jesus; that I am sitting at the heavenly realms at Your right hand! Thank You for the authority You have given me – to be Your vessel and Your soldier. Your goodness overwhelms me. Work in and through me and use me to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and lead others to Jesus with signs, wonders, and miracles just as Jesus did. Your goodness overwhelms me.

Thank You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 In addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints,

Romans 6:10 – 18
