A Child’s Armor of God Prayer

Dear Jesus,

I am in a spiritual battle and I am Your warrior. Thank You for giving me armor to fight with!

I put on the belt of truth. I know who You say I am and I will not listen to the enemy or my feelings. I am a child of God and I am loved, important, and special because Your Word says so.

God, I put on the breastplate of righteousness which means I am perfect because You died for me! I don’t have to be number one in school, with work, or at home. I don’t have to be better than anyone else. I am perfect because You made me perfect.

I put on the shoes of peace which means I don’t have to worry or be upset. If I do start to worry, I can tell You about it instead and You will help me.

I pick up the shield of faith and say “God, I believe You and I believe everything You say!” I follow You even when I don’t know what’s going to happen and You protect me!

I put on the helmet of salvation which protects my mind. I use it by knowing what You say in the bible. When I think something wrong, I change it to something You have taught me that is right.

I use the sword of the Spirit  – which is knowing the bible and speaking it – to fight all battles and win the war.

Father God, thank You that You give me so many good things. I am Your child and everything You gave to Jesus – You give to me, too! Please use me to teach others about Jesus, to heal the sick, and do miracles so that my friends will believe in You, too!

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his great power. 11 Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s evil tricks. 12 Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world. 13 That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing. 14 So stand strong, with the belt of truth tied around your waist. And on your chest wear the protection of right living. 15 And on your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. 16 And also use the shield of faith. With that you can stop all the burning arrows of the Evil One. 17 Accept God’s salvation to be your helmet. And take the sword of the Spirit—that sword is the teaching of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all God’s people.

Ephesians 6:10-18
