Don’t keep it

I am doing a devotional and bible study by Levi Lusko called Take Back Your Life. There has been one line that has just jumped out and inspired me!

Here’s the quote:

Can I say it again??

If God didn’t give it to you, you don’t have to keep it.

Fear? God did NOT give you a spirit of fear. Therefore, you don’t have to keep it. Let it go! You are not meant to live a life in fear. Fear of illness, fear of people, fear of social situations, fear of what people say and think of you, fear of what may or may not happen in your life. That is NOT living! That is NOT God’s way. So don’t hold onto it anymore!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

Say, “I renounce fear in my life! I break up with fear! God did not give me a spirit of fear, and I will no longer live in fear. Fear, you must leave in Jesus’ name!” And then cling to Jesus!

How about that feeling of unworthiness that plagues you? You know, the thoughts that say you are not good enough, not valuable, that you don’t belong? Do you think God gave those to you? Absolutely not! So, friends, let’s determine now to not keep it.

The bible is full of verses that show us our worth in God’s eyes. How loved we are. How valuable we are to God. How even the hairs on our head are numbered. How he formed us in our mother’s womb. How He had a plan and a purpose for us before the foundations of the Earth. That we are God’s masterpiece and handiwork. Someone God fights over and protects. We are so precious to God! Which sounds like the opposite of unworthiness!

Let’s call it off and let it go! “Spirit of unworthiness, I call you off in Jesus name! To all the feelings of unworthiness and feeling devalued and not belonging, I bind you in Jesus name and cast you off of me! You must leave! I am precious in God’s eyes! I am God’s princess! I am bought and covered by the blood of Jesus. God did not give me a spirit of unworthiness, and I declare right now I will no longer keep it around!”

How about doubt and confusion? Do you struggle with those? I know I do at times. Does God give us doubt? Does God cause us to be confused? In no way, shape, or form. In fact, 1 Corinthians 14:33 says For God is NOT the author of confusion, but of peace! If God did not give us doubt and confusion, friends, we don’t have to keep it!

Illness? Pain? Migraines? Not from God. Not ours to keep.

Hopelessness? Anxiety? Depression? God did not give us these. We don’t have to keep them!

Poverty mindset?

Addictions?

Self-Sabotage?

Not. From. God.

We do not have to keep them.

Father God, I pray that you will reveal to us the things we are holding onto that are not from You. Reveal to us the things that You did NOT give us – the things that we can now cast off and refuse to keep. Teach us how to call these things off of us in Jesus’ name and embrace the life and mind that You have for us. Give us freedom, Jesus! A life abundant that You have promised! Thank you for your healing! Thank you for freedom! Thank you that we never stop learning and growing and always have the ability to move closer to You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
