Be an Example

Hello, Darling. You have a purpose here on Earth. No matter how old or young, how educated or not, no matter your financial status, your history, what you’ve been through or what you’ve done… God has a plan and a purpose for your life right now.

This verse, 1 Timothy 4:12 was one of my favorite verses as a teenager and adult. During that time of my life, I knew there was a calling on my life and I was living it out no matter who said I was “too young” to do the things I wanted to do. And believe me, it was said.

When I looked at this picture… and I was thinking about what quote or verse to put with it, I landed here.

You are young, but do not let anyone treat you as if you were not important. Be an example to show the believers how they should live. Show them with your words, with the way you live, with your love, with your faith, and with your pure life.

1 Timothy 4:12

My daughter, at 9 years old, has the chance and does influence other people’s lives. This beautiful day… a day we met up with my friend and her precious 3 year old daughter… was such an example of the power my daughter has. This lil punkin looked up to my bigger punkin the whole day. Everything my daughter did, she did. She watched my daughter intently and wanted to be just like her. If my punkin put her hands behind her head, then she was going to do the same.

It. was. so. precious.

And a reminder that someone, someone, is always looking at you, watching you, seeing how you react. Seeing if your love for Jesus is real in hard times. Watching how you react when you’re angry, when you’re sad, when you’re happy. Do you say you love God or do you live it?

That’s not to say we never make mistakes, because of course we do. But overall, what does your life say about your beliefs? Can people tell you follow and love God by your life, even if you never say so with your lips?

Brothers, all of you should try to follow my example and to copy those who live the way we showed you.

Philippians 3:17

People are watching us and learning by our life what it means to love and follow God. Let’s make sure we are following the example Jesus left so that others can see Jesus in us.

Happy Wednesday, my friends.
