Ahhh my lil punkin. Isn’t she the cutest? I love pictures and I love that Facebook pops up with memories every year. It made it easy to create this collage of my punkin at the Fall Festivals through the years.
The last two years, we didn’t go to many. October is a hard month for me and the last couple years I think it just got the best of me. I adore festivals though! (Not fairs, just to be clear.) I love the atmosphere, the holiday feels you get, the sights of seasonal things whether it’s pumpkins, Thanksgiving, or Christmas themed. Basically I love the months of October – New Years!
I’m the kind of person that could definitely do the Christmas tree early and wants to see all the sights and do all the things holiday related.
More than that though, it’s a great time to spend with my daughter and with friends!
I’ve heard, as probably you have too, that quality time is the best thing we can give our children. The time we spend with them laughing, playing, making memories and just being with each other is priceless.
This can start with the smallest thing – such as coloring together, watching a movie, and playing games to adventuring out to festivals to full on vacations. The size of the activity really doesn’t matter, it’s the time that does. The time without the cell phone, without distractions, those quality moments we have with our kids that will last forever.
I can be guilty of the cell phone thing… so I have to make a purposeful effort to put the phone away and be in the moment. Sometimes I even let Raegan know – and keep me accountable – of staying off the darn thing! (Except for pictures. I will always pull it out for a great photo op!) Such as this… I mean, look at her!
So today, we went to Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival and had a great time! It was the 3rd fall festival we’ve done this year… I made a decision to get out of the house and get back to things we love to do… and I succeeded this month! We have had a blast checking out the festivals around and we are looking forward to keeping it up through the rest of the holiday months.
I was looking forward to the Medieval Festival in November but it’s been cancelled! So I’ll be on the lookout for other fun adventures with my girl.
What kinds of things do you love doing with your kids? Do you do the fall festivals? I’d love to hear!
Happy Saturday friends!! Here’s a few more pics from today. 🙂
